Designed in the wake of the devastating Black Saturday bushfires on February 2009, the Brutalist Bushfire Bunker aimed to question traditional approaches to design in bushfire prone areas and to suggest a new, survivable vernacular for living in the environment of South Eastern Australia, the most fire prone landscape in the world.
