Profile

pH architects was established in January 2000 by Peter Hogg. The practice has an established portfolio of domestic and residential work, including building conservation and heritage work as well as a number of social housing projects.

pH architects aims to create innovative and sensitive design solutions in response to the client's brief, while at the same time maximizing amenity, to minimizing environmental impacts, and responding creatively to the opportunities afforded by the site.

In addition to running the practice Peter Hogg was a director on the board of the Architeam Cooperative for 7 years from 2009 to 2014, and ran the ArchiTeam Cooperative CPD program (2003-2014).

From 2011 to 2016 PH Architects joined forces with Toby Reed to establish PHTR Architects Pty Ltd. That practice was dissolved in 2016 so that each partner could pursue their own interests.

Since 2000 Peter has taught architecture at a number of Universities and Higher Education providers, including RMIT, Swinburne (in Interior Design) and the University of Melbourne.

Peter was the foundational lecturer / tutor in Design, Architectural History and City and Community Planning in the Bachelor of Built Environment degree program at Melbourne Polytechnic from mid-2015 to the end of 2017.

He has been Head of Program of the Bachelor of Built Environment since January 2018, and is currently undertaking a PhD at Monash University into Traditional Aboriginal Dwellings and Shelters in South Eastern Australia.
